ABSTRACT Fiber Bragg Gratings (FBGs) are a well-established method in the field of inter-ference of this kind. The use of a two of FBG can produce terahertz frequency. Nevertheless, the generating techniques for terahertz waves continue to face problems related to their cost, complexity, and sensitivity. This thesis presents the development of a unique and inventive design using modified short period uniform fiber Bragg gratings (SP-UFBG) coated with na-noparticles, including gold and silver. The design has been used in many appli-cations, including terahertz frequency generation, human body temperature sens-ing, general temperature sensing, and bio-sensing, among other applications, as well as multi-sensors have been used to serve as a smart bandage. The findings above were acquired after iterative examinations and quantifications to ascertain their reliability
