On Monday, December 12, 2022, second- and fourth-year students from the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Yasser Yaareb Qahtan, Assistant Professor Dr. Haider Mowafaq Tawfiq, and Assistant Lecturer Suzan Hassan Ahmed — all faculty members of the department — along with Engineer Mohammed Shaalan Jawda, a staff member of the department's laboratories and a prosthetics and orthotics engineer at Al-Hakim Hospital, visited the Baghdad Center for Prosthetics and Orthotics.
This visit was part of the department’s annual activities aimed at enhancing the students’ practical experience by familiarizing them with the processes involved in the manufacturing of prosthetics and orthotic devices — starting from patient diagnosis and measurement-taking to the final fabrication of the device and training the patient on how to use it.
The faculty members and students were welcomed by Mr. Saleh Mahoud, the Center’s Technical Assistant Director, and Prosthetics and Orthotics Technician Ahmed Jasim Khazal, who provided an overview of the Center's work and introduced the visitors to its key facilities.
