As part of promoting a culture of academic integrity and keeping pace with the rapid transformations in the use of artificial intelligence in scientific research, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University organized a scientific workshop on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, entitled “Scientific Research Integrity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence: Ethical Challenges,” delivered by Dr. Omar Adnan Abbas. The workshop addressed the fundamental concepts of research integrity and the role of artificial intelligence in advancing various stages of the research process, while highlighting the ethical challenges associated with its use, including algorithmic bias, transparency, scientific responsibility, and the reproducibility of results. The workshop also discussed proposed mechanisms for promoting the responsible use of artificial intelligence in academic environments and emphasized the importance of updating institutional and ethical frameworks to ensure the reliability of research outputs and to maintain trust within the scientific community.
