Professor Dr Basim Obaid Hasan, Professor of Chemical Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University and currently a visiting professor at the University of Adelaide under a research fellowship funded by the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, delivered a specialized scientific lecture in the field of clean energy.

The lecture was attended by a number of experts and researchers from the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering at the University of Adelaide. During the session, Professor Hasan presented key scientific findings from his research project on producing hydrogen through the thermal cracking of methane, using a technique that ensures zero carbon emissions. The project, funded by the Australian government, aims to develop advanced technologies for hydrogen production using reactors operating at high temperatures.

The lecture opened the floor to extensive scientific discussions, during which attendees emphasized the significance of the obtained results and their role in supporting global efforts toward clean energy, particularly in the field of thermal reactor design for hydrogen production from natural gas.
