The Department Council held its final session for the academic year 2024–2025, during which it discussed the department’s strategic plan to adopt and encourage research projects for master's and doctoral students. The focus was on promoting studies that align with the industrial realities of Iraq, as well as research in the field of renewable energy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

The Council also emphasized the development of curricula for the upcoming academic year, within the approved limits and in accordance with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.

The meeting concluded with a review of the department’s performance, including the percentage of research completed under the department’s scientific plan, and a discussion on the current teaching landscape and strategies to overcome shortcomings in the new academic year.

The session was chaired by Asst. Prof. Dr. Abbas Abdul Kareem Mahmood, Head of the Department, and was attended by the department coordinator and all council members.
