The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University held the Expert Committee meeting on Wednesday, June 25, 2025. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Raad Sami Fayyadh, head of the committee, with the attendance of most members and the participation of the Head of Department. The meeting focused on discussing key academic and strategic developments for the 2024–2025 academic year.

The session included a presentation of the academic plan for all four study stages, emphasizing the importance of regularly updating the curriculum and incorporating new scientific subjects within the “scientific basket” in alignment with evolving labor market needs.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of supporting students’ annual projects, including graduation projects, with the aim of transforming them into marketable practical applications. The committee also proposed organizing annual exhibitions.

Moreover, the committee stressed the need to integrate sustainability concepts into both academic curricula and research projects, in line with global trends of leveraging artificial intelligence for sustainable development.

Mr. Ammar Mohammed Jarallah, Managing Director of Al-Jidar Al-Nari Company, participated in the meeting as a representative of the private sector. He presented a number of initiatives to strengthen collaboration, including joint workshops and support for outstanding student projects.

This meeting comes as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to update its academic programs, enhance the quality of education, and ensure that its outcomes align with technological advancements and the demands of both the local and global labor markets.
