The event was conducted under the supervision and training of Asst. Prof. Dr. Aseel Mohammed Ali Hussein, who guided and encouraged the students to present their graduation projects in the best possible form, helping them prepare their presentations and showcase the devices they designed and built. The event took place on the morning of Thursday, April 23, 2025, in Al-Nahrain Hall – New Lecture Halls Building. The selection of the best graduation project was carried out by a jury committee consisting of experts from various specialties and governmental institutions, including: Prof. Dr. Jamal Abdul Jabbar Hassan – Biomedical Engineering Dept., College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University Dr. Rafid Abdul Rasool Abbas – Human Resources Development Dept., Planning and Resource Development Directorate, Ministry of Health Dr. Ali Faisal Abdul Kareem – Medical Device Management Dept., Technical Affairs Directorate, Ministry of Health Dr. Haider Amer Tawfiq – Commercial Department Manager, Al-Bahja Company Eng. Amna Walaa Qasim – Sales Department Manager, Al-Injazat Trading Company The competition witnessed wide and distinguished attendance from the College of Engineering's faculty and a large number of department professors, in addition to the presence of many students from all academic levels. It was also marked by the participation of representatives from several leading companies in the field of medical technology and biomedical engineering, including Al-Bahja, Al-Itqan, and Al-Majd companies. These representatives contributed to evaluating the participating projects and provided professional insights that support students’ readiness to enter the job market.
Fifth-year students competed with a variety of projects reflecting their scientific and practical skills in the fields of medical devices and biomedical engineering technologies. The evaluation was conducted based on strict criteria including innovation, practical applicability, and relevance to the needs of the healthcare sector. The competition reflected a shared commitment to supporting student creativity and academic excellence in graduation projects.The Department of Biomedical Engineering – College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University organized the Third Annual Competition for selecting the best graduation project for the academic year 2024–2025, under the generous patronage of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Iyad Murad Takhakh, and the supervision of the Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anas Qusay Hashem.
