The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, welcomed a scientific delegation from the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Karbala, which included several faculty members and students.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening scientific and academic cooperation between Iraqi universities.

The delegation was received by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashim, and Assistant Professor Dr. Sadiq Jaafar Abbas, lecturer of Biomechanics in the department, along with a group of faculty members. They warmly welcomed the guests and expressed the importance of such scientific visits in expanding cooperation and exchanging expertise between corresponding departments.

The visit included an extensive field tour covering several basic and specialized scientific laboratories within the department, during which the following were introduced:

  • The components of each laboratory, including equipment and devices.

  • The workflow and mechanisms inside the laboratories and how they serve academic curricula and practical applications.

  • A discussion of the role of these laboratories in supporting graduation projects and scientific research.

The visit also featured a discussion session between the faculty members of both departments, during which they exchanged ideas on mechanisms for developing and updating academic curricula to meet the needs of the job market, as well as discussing future opportunities for scientific collaboration and joint supervision of graduation projects.

At the end of the visit, the visiting delegation expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the warm hospitality and excellent organization, and praised the technical capabilities available in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, emphasizing the importance of continued scientific communication between the two institutions.

This visit is considered part of a series of scientific activities aimed at building effective cooperative relationships among Iraqi universities, contributing to the advancement of biomedical engineering education and the development of academic and student competencies.
