Assistant Professor Dr. Asmaa Thamer Ibrahim, a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering, and her Ph.D. student, Tamara Hussein, were awarded the International Creativity Medal at the Sixth International Scientific Conference on Creativity and Innovation, held in Iraq under the esteemed patronage of the Honorable Prime Minister. The award was granted for their participation with a research paper derived from the student’s doctoral dissertation, supervised by Assistant Professor Dr. Asmaa Thamer Ibrahim. The paper is titled: “Performance Evaluation of Sustainable Rigid Pavement Structure and Rehabilitation Decision Making.” It is noteworthy that their research was selected from among 250 scientific papers presented at the conference, with only 13 of those falling under the engineering research category. Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that Tamara Hussein is a Jordanian student currently pursuing her Ph.D. studies in the Department of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, at Al-Nahrain University. This remarkable achievement, accomplished in a highly competitive academic environment, reflects the excellence and innovation of the faculty and students of the Civil Engineering Department and their leadership in the fields of research and scientific creativity. On this occasion, the Civil Engineering Department extends its heartfelt congratulations to the supervising faculty member and the student, wishing them continued success and excellence, and reaffirming the department’s pioneering role in achieving scientific accomplishments at all levels.
