The Head of the Department of Prothesis and Orthosis Engineering, Prof. Dr. Ayad Murad Takakh, participated in the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Medical Engineering Research Center.

The Board of Directors of the Biomedical Engineering Research Center at the University of Anbar held its first meeting on Monday, February 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the center’s building at the University of Anbar. The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Yousif Ismail Al Mashhadany, the Chairman of the Board, in the presence of the board members.

Professor Dr. Al Mashhadany opened the meeting with a welcoming speech, congratulating the members on commencing their duties on the Board of Directors. He praised the great efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in supporting and inaugurating the center, emphasizing his appreciation for its active role in enhancing the quality of education and scientific research. He also acknowledged the continuous support of Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Neda, the esteemed President of the University of Anbar, whose contributions played a significant role in the success of this initiative. This step marks the University of Anbar as the first Iraqi university to establish a specialized research and technical center for biomedical engineering.

The meeting discussed the center's key organizational and administrative tasks and future research plans. Additionally, the board reviewed the needs of the scientific departments to enhance their development and explored ways to improve academic and research activities. The meeting also addressed the strategic directions for the next phase, defining research priorities, and strengthening collaboration with relevant scientific institutions.

After the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors commended the efforts of the members and the entire center’s staff, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and a unified vision to achieve the center’s goals in serving the university and the community. It was agreed that the next meeting would be held at a later date to follow up on the implementation of recommendations and proposed initiatives.
