On Thursday, 4 February 2025, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, hosted the defense of a master’s thesis presented by Rajha Saleh Saad Khudair, titled: The research focused on the importance of monitoring the gait of amputees and disabled individuals to identify movement issues and provide suitable prosthetic or orthotic designs. The study introduced an innovative wireless and wearable smart insole equipped with force sensors to measure pressure distribution on the foot during walking, eliminating the need for medical laboratories. The defense committee consisted of:
"Design and Development of a Wearable Force Measurement Device for Biomechanical Analysis"
The defense session witnessed outstanding scientific engagement, with the examining professors commending the research's significance and scientific accuracy. They also provided valuable insights that contribute to enhancing the study and its practical applications. At the conclusion of the session, the committee recommended accepting the thesis with a Very Good grade, praising the researcher's efforts and highlighting the study's importance in improving the quality of life for prosthetic patients.
