Professor Dr. Wajdi Sadiq Abboud, Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Engineering at the College of Engineering – Al-Nahrain University, participated as a member of the PhD dissertation defense committee for the doctoral candidate Asaad Dhafer Abdulsahib, for his dissertation titled:

"Design and Implementation of Wheeled Mobile Robot Navigation System for Applications in Hospitals Usage"

The defense took place on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the Department of Mechanical Engineering – University of Technology.

The dissertation presented a theoretical and experimental investigation into the design and manufacturing of a four-wheeled mobile robot (FMWMR) for hospital environments. The research involved analyzing the robot’s kinematic and dynamic models, designing it using SolidWorks software, and studying path-tracking enhancement mechanisms through Model Reference Adaptive Control (MRAC) techniques and Modified Probabilistic Roadmap (PRM) algorithms for path planning.

The defense was attended by a distinguished scientific committee comprising a select group of specialized professors. They commended the significance of the research and its role in advancing intelligent systems used in medical and logistical applications. This participation aligns with academic collaboration between engineering departments and fosters knowledge exchange in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, and applied mechanics.
