The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, conducted the Oral Examination for the Comprehensive Exam of PhD students on Wednesday, January 8, 2024. The exam involved four students presenting their research proposals, which were subsequently discussed by the designated committee. The committee provided feedback, reviewed work plans, and suggested modifications to the research titles.

The examination committees comprised faculty members from the department and college, specializing in the students’ research fields. The committee included:

• Professor Dr. Juma Salman Jiyad, Dean of the College of Engineering
• Assistant Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashim, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department
• Professor Dr. Iyad Murad Takhakh, Head of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering Department
• Professor Dr. Jamal Abdul Jabbar Hassan
• Assistant Professor Dr. Sadiq Jaafar Abbas
• Assistant Professor Dr. Hadeel Qasim Wadi (from the Biomedical Engineering Department)

The committee provided suggestions and feedback on the students' research proposals, emphasizing the importance of guiding students toward research topics that address societal needs and contribute to the advancement of the healthcare and engineering sectors in Iraq. The committee members also stressed the need to continue supporting innovative research that enhances Al-Nahrain University's academic reputation and provides a valuable contribution to the field of Biomedical Engineering.
