The Department of Biomedical Engineering organized a scientific training workshop on Sunday, November 17, 2024, in collaboration with the Scientific Perfection Office. The workshop targeted fifth-year students as part of the Medical Devices Laboratory requirements and focused on enhancing students' and graduates' readiness for the job market in the field of medical devices, particularly medical sonography. The workshop covered specialized skills in working with sonograms, starting from the basics to advanced applications, as well as the professional skills required for new graduates to successfully enter the private sector, with an emphasis on the requirements of companies and medical institutions. The workshop was presented by Dr. Ali Karim, Director of the Sonography Department at the Scientific Perfection Office, who discussed the technical and practical aspects related to sonograms. Engineer Karar Ali Abdulkhaleq, a 2023 graduate of the department, also shared his practical experiences with the students, explaining the transition from academic life to professional life. The workshop was organized and managed by Engineer Hadeer Moayed Mohammed, the Medical Devices Laboratory Coordinator for the fifth-year students. The workshop witnessed a great deal of interaction from the attendees, who praised the quality of the content and organization, expressing their appreciation for the department's efforts in organizing events that connect the academic and professional aspects. This workshop is part of a series of activities the Department of Biomedical Engineering aims to organize to develop the skills of students and graduates and strengthen partnerships with leading institutions and companies in the medical devices field, contributing to the preparation of a generation qualified for the job market.
