Assistant Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashim, Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department, participated as a member of the PhD dissertation defense committee for the student Lubna Abdul Kareem Abbas from the Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University. The dissertation was titled:

"Design and Performance Investigations of Smartphone Microscope"

The committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Firas Faiq Kadhim from Al-Ain University - College of Engineering, with the following members:

• Assistant Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashim, Biomedical Engineering Department, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University
• Assistant Professor Dr. Saad Abdul Aziz Mohammed, Al-Rasheed University College
• Assistant Professor Dr. Fatima Rajab Hamed, Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering, Al-Nahrain University
• Assistant Professor Dr. Shaimaa Riyadh Mohammed Ali, Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering, Al-Nahrain University

The dissertation was supervised by Professor Dr. Anwar Abdul Sattar Abdul Razzaq, who also served as a member of the committee.

The defense was conducted publicly in the Council Hall of the Department of Laser and Optoelectronics Engineering, College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University, on Wednesday, November 14, 2024. The dissertation was approved as it fulfilled the requirements for the PhD degree.
