Under the patronage of Professor Jumaa Salman Jiyad, Dean of the College of Engineering at Al-Nahrain University, and in collaboration with the Student Activities Division, the cultural and scientific debates competition among the college's students from all academic departments commenced. The event took place in the Al-Furat Hall at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Associate Professor Dr. Aseel Mohammed Ali Hussein, along with several faculty members, participated in the judging committee to select the team representing Al-Nahrain University students. A number of students from various departments of the College of Engineering took part in the competition, with questions covering general, scientific, and specialized fields. Many ideas and discussions were presented, enriching the attendees' knowledge.

It is worth noting that students from the Biomedical Engineering Department also participated. Among them, student Ali Mohammed Abdul Ali and student Ruqayya Mohammed Hamza were selected to be part of Al-Nahrain University's debate competition team, in preparation for the major competition against other Iraqi universities.
