The PhD candidate, Faten Abdul Amir Ali, was discussed in the Department of Biomedical Engineering on Sunday, October 6, 2024, regarding her dissertation titled:
"Designing and Modification of a Novel Orthodontic Bracket Holder."

The discussion committee was chaired by Professor Dr. Mohsen Jaber Jweij from the College of Engineering, Al-Farahidi University, with the following members:

  • Professor Dr. Mohammed Nahidh Mohammed from the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad.
  • Associate Professor Dr. Ali Hussein Mohammed from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.
  • Associate Professor Dr. Anas Qusay Hashim from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.
  • Associate Professor Dr. Hadeel Qasim Wadi from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.

The dissertation was supervised by:

  • Associate Professor Dr. Sadiq Jaafar Sadiq Abbas from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.
  • Associate Professor Dr. Hura Sabah Abdul Amir from the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad.

The dissertation was scientifically evaluated by:

  • The first scientific evaluator, Professor Dr. Ali Mohammed Hameed, from the College of Dentistry, University of Baghdad.
  • The second scientific evaluator, Professor Dr. Mohammed Abdul Sattar Mohammed, from the College of Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.
  • It was linguistically evaluated by Dr. Salman Majid Salman, from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Al-Nahrain University.

The aim of the study is to design a new and innovative technique that helps orthodontists to secure brackets in fixed orthodontic devices instantaneously and in a significantly shorter time compared to traditional methods, thus reducing the effort and time required for both the patient and the doctor. The dissertation was accepted as it fulfilled the requirements for obtaining a PhD degree.
