As part of the skill
development activities in the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics
Engineering and under the sponsorship of the Dean of the College of
Engineering, a seminar titled: "Choosing the Right AFO for CP
Patient: Foundation for a Decision-Making Algorithm" was held, and presented by Prof. Dr. Abdullah
Al-Fatlawi, Director of the Medical Orthotics Department at Sidera
Hospital in Qatar. The seminar was attended by faculty members,
students, graduates of the department, and several guests, and focused on
selecting the appropriate Ankle-Foot Orthosis (AFO) for Cerebral
Palsy (CP) patients, laying the foundation for decision-making
algorithms in this area. The session provided valuable insights into
personalized orthotic solutions for CP patients, enhancing both theoretical and
practical knowledge in the field.
